چکیده
A new cone species, Cylinder feliciae, is described from the Saleh Gulf (Teluk Saleh) of Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara Islands (Lesser Sunda Islands), Indonesia. The species morphologically similar to gloriamaris (Chemnitz, 1777) southwestern Pacific and represents a geographically-isolated relict once widespread molluscan fauna that extended all along coast Middle Pleistocene Sundaland Peninsula

متن کاملRelativization in Sasak and Sumbawa, Eastern Indonesia
On the basis of a detailed study of the relativization phenomena in the dialects of Sasak and Sumbawa in eastern Indonesia, this paper shows that the two crucial assumptions made by Keenan & Comrie on Western Malayo-Polynesian languages are untenable. That is, the Topic in these languages cannot be reinterpreted as Subject and that Austronesian non-Actor focus constructions cannot be considered...

متن کاملRelict species: a relict concept?
Relict species have always beguiled evolutionary biologists and biogeographers, who often view them as fascinating 'living fossils' or remnants of old times. Consequently, they are believed to provide interesting and important information on a vanished past and are used to understand the evolution of clades and biotas. The information that relicts provide can, however, be misleading and overemp...
متن کاملCylinder Rolling on Another Rolling Cylinder
This problem was suggested by Bradley Klee. For the related case of one cylinder rolling inside another, see [1]. When one cylinder is directly above the other, we define the line of contact of the lower cylinder, 1, with the horizontal plane to be the z-axis, at x = y = 0. Then, the condition of rolling without slipping for the lower cylinder is that when it has rolled (positive) distance x1, ...
